Only one month after the much-anticipated Nabucco project was unofficially pronounced dead, Turkey took a proactive step to ink a deal to launch a critical natural gas pipeline project with its eastern neighbor Azerbaijan.
 

Ankara and Baku have long discussed the details of the planned Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP). The project has, however, remained out of focus for some time as all eyes have been on Nabucco, a pipeline designed to carry Caspian gas to European markets via Turkey, bypassing the Russian route.  MORE
