Daily News Tanzania: "Gas Economy Calls for Thorough Preparations"

Tanzanians have been urged to prepare themselves thoroughly for the gas economy, following a string of recent off-shore hydrocarbon discoveries in the south eastern part of the country.

Speakers and other stakeholders made the call in Dar es Salaam yesterday at a breakfast dialogue on the overview of the Petroleum Act 2015. The National Assembly recently passed the bill of the law.

Tanzania is estimated to have more than 55 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of natural gas, but is yet to make any oil discoveries. The neighbouring Mozambique has over 100 tcf.
