Douglas Bain said he understood the concerns of people – but insisted those fears were based on misinformation and “scaremongering”.
The boss of the energy firm behind controversial plans to drill for gas in north Shropshire also said his firm is not interested in any other part of the Shropshire – for now, at least.
And the prospect of the controversial gas extraction is something that frightens the homeowners.
The application, submitted by energy firm Dart Energy, hopes to drill an exploratory borehole on land north west of The Brooklands with hopes of extracting cold bed methane. But residents have said it could have a huge impact on their way of life.
