A public meeting is being held on Monday to debate an application to drill for shale gas in Pontrhydyfen near Port Talbot.

The application by Bridgend's UK Methane is the second by the company after the first was refused by Neath Port Talbot Council.

It was refused because of concerns over the noise level the 24-hour drilling operation could cause.

The new proposal is the same but now has a noise management plan. MORE
