Financial Times: Japan pushes Asia gas price close to high

The cost of liquefied natural gas has surged to within a whisker of its all-time high in the critical Asian spot market as Japan bids for cargos of gas to offset the loss of nuclear power and supplies decline after a terror attack in Yemen.

The rally is set to continue, with Singapore-based traders saying strong demand and production outages are likely to push LNG spot prices in Asia to a record high this summer.  MORE (Registration required)
