The Telegraph: Ineos offers £2.5bn to communities disrupted by shale gas

Chemicals group Ineos saying it will pay six times more to communities affected by fracking than the sector’s trade body is offering.

The company has attempted to kick-start currently stalled shale gas exploration and development with a surprise announcement that it will pay 6pc of revenues from its shale gas wells once they are up and running.

Ineos expects to pay out a total of £2.5bn, with 4pc of the revenues going to homeowners and landowners under whose property it produces shale gas from, and 2pc to communities around the wells.
