Sputnik: Shale Gas Giant RansomThreat Over Scottish Petrochemical Refinery Dismissed

Ineos, owner of one of the United Kingdom's biggest petrochemical refineries at Grangemouth, is blackmailing the Scottish government after warning the future of the plant is at risk if fracking exploration is not allowed to develop, Richard Dixon, director of Friends of the Earth Scotland, told Sputnik.

"Ineos are once again trying to hold the Scottish government to ransom to try and get their way. Only 10 days ago they [Ineos] welcomed the moratorium as an opportunity to debate the issues around fracking but now they are forecasting doom and gloom – they need to get their story straight," Dixon said.
