Energy Mix Report: Trans-Nigerian gas pipeline construction begins in June 2014

The construction of Trans-Nigerian gas pipeline project will commence in June, the Group Executive Director, Gas and Power, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. David Ige, has said.

Ige, who was quoted in the Oil & Gas Year publication obtained by our correspondent during the 2014 Nigerian Oil and Gas Conference in Abuja, said the pipeline would bring natural gas to the country’s eastern and northern regions.

He said a Public Private Partnership model had been adopted for the financing of the pipeline construction, adding that the NNPC and private investors would spend $5bn on the project.  MORE
