Trend: Bulgarian PM to discuss diversifying gas supplies to Europe in Azerbaijan

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov will visit Azerbaijan on April 26-27, Bulgarian Focus news agency reported.

Borisov told journalists on Monday in Batumi, Georgia, that he would brief the Azerbaijani authorities in Baku on his idea of diversifying natural gas supplies to Europe.

According to him, if Georgia build a liquefied natural gas terminal at the port of Kulevi, gas will be able to be supplied from Azerbaijan via Georgia and the Black Sea to Bulgaria and then to other European countries.

Borisov also said that he would convey his project to supply gas from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria to the European Council President Herman Van Rompuy, during the latter's visit to Sofia on April 25.  MORE
