Publics.bg: Bulgaria Will Respect the South Stream Roadmap

The only promise that Bulgaria made to the Russian side during economy minister Delian Dobrev’s recent visit in Moscow is that the country will respect the roadmap of South Stream gas pipeline, dep.-minister of energy Valentin Nikolov said, as quoted by Darik.

Nikolov denied that building a gas-fired power station at the place of the planned nuclear reactor at Belene was used as a bargaining chip for the negotiated 11-percent decrease of natural gas sold to Bulgaria by Russia’s Gazprom.

Last week the government decided to drop the long delayed second nuclear station at the Belene site and install the almost ready reactor built by Rosatom at the site of Kozloduy – the country’s sole nuclear station to this day. Nevertheless, the decision is not firmly conclusive, officials said.  MORE
