ITAR-TASS: Bulgaria accepts Russia’s unilateral decision to withdraw from South Stream project

Bulgaria accepts Russia’s unilateral decision to halt the South Stream project, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said on Tuesday.

Russia’s refusal to implement the South Stream project with the European Union demonstrates that Russia is not going to observe the laws existing in the territory of the European Union, he said.

He said that to withdraw from the project Russia would have to denounce the interstate agreement on the pipeline construction. “Let us wait and see whether the Russian side will make such a step. So far, we don’t have any document certifying this position,” he added.  MORE
