Vintage completes Vali-3 well

Australian explorer Vintage Energy on July 6 said it had completed Vali-3 wireline logging confirming gas pay. The well, in Queensland’s Cooper basin, is now cased for future production along with Vali-1 ST1, Vali-2 and Odin-1.

“The main objective of the Vali-3 well was achieved following the intersection of the Patchawarra formation in line with the pre-drill interpretation of the Vali structure,” the company said. “Evaluation of the recently completed wireline logging programme has confirmed interpreted gas pay within the Patchawarra, consistent with pre-drill expectations and the location of the well within the field.”

Vintage, Metgasco and Bridgeport are partners in the Vali project that is located in Queensland's Cooper basin. Vali was discovered in January 2020, when a well encountered a gas pay in Nappamerri, Toolachee and Patchawarra formations.
