Oz Vintage Completes Queensland Well Flow Test

Sydney-listed Vintage Energy on August 21 announced the completion of the flow test programme for Vali-1 ST1 well in Queensland.

“During the extended flow test programme, a rate of 4.3mn ft3/day of gas was measured through a 36/64" choke at a flowing well-head pressure of 942 psi over a two-day period,” the company said. Transient tests were also undertaken with rates recorded between 3.7mn ft3/day and 7.5mn ft3/day.

Vintage added that as a consequence of the flow testing of the well, the initial production flow rate for the Vali1 ST1 well could be more than 5mn ft3/day. “The well will now be completed, with production tubing to be installed during October 2020. Discussions are underway with Santos, the Cooper Basin joint venture operator, on connection of the field into the Moomba gas gathering system,” the company said.

The ATP 2021 joint venture comprises Vintage 50% and operator, Metgasco Ltd 25% and Bridgeport 25%. The Vali discovery in Queensland was announced in January this year.
