Triple Spuds First Well of China Coal Methane Project

Triple Energy has spudded the initial well in its coal mine methane (CMM) project in Heilongjiang Province in China.

The well is designed as a first step to collect data to determine the coal seam reservoir character including gas flow rates of the multiple stacked coal seams in the location of the well.

The well is targeting coal seams that have been mapped on well bore-hole data acquired by Triple’s partner in the Joint Venture, Longmay Coal Mining Company, one of China’s largest coal mining companies.

Planned Total Depth for the well is approximately 900 meters and it is expected to intersect numerous coal seams. It is anticipated that drilling and testing will take around 25 - 30 days to complete.
