CNOOC starts production at Bohai Sea gas project

State-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) on May 7 announced the commencement of production at the Bozhong 19-6 gas field 13-2 Block 5 well site development project in the Bohai Sea.

Situated in the central Bohai Sea with an average water depth of approximately 23 meters, the Bozhong 19-6 gas field 13-2 Block 5 project features a wellhead platform as its main production facility. A total of 10 development wells are planned to be commissioned as part of the project's production strategy.

The project is expected to achieve a peak production of approximately 5,800 barrels of oil equivalent/day in 2026. CNOOC holds a 100% interest in the Bozhong 19-6 gas field 13-2 Block 5 project and serves as the operator,
