Texas LNG in second tolling agreement with EQT

Glenfarne Energy Transition said April 23 its Texas LNG Brownsville subsidiary had entered into a second heads of agreement (HoA) with EQT for an additional 1.5mn tonnes/year of liquefaction over 20 years.

Final terms remain subject to the negotiation of a definitive 20-year LNG tolling agreement, Glenfarne said.

Alongside an earlier tolling agreement with EQT for 500,000 tonnes/year of LNG and a recent HoA with Gunvor for 500,000 tonnes/year of LNG, the 4mn tonnes/year Texas LNG Brownsville project is left with 1.5mn tonnes/year of additional offtake that is pending public announcement.

“Texas LNG has sold more than half of its permitted capacity,” Glenfarne CEO Brendan Duval said. “With this announcement with EQT and additional offtake sales to be announced soon, we will reach financial close and the start of construction in the fourth quarter this year.”

Texas LNG is expected to begin commercial operations in 2028.
