Socar, Petrofac Win Service Deal at BP's Caspian Projects

A joint venture between the UK’s Petrofac and Azerbaijan’s SOCAR has landed a contract from BP for project management services in Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The three-year contract, announced by Petrofac on December 16, covers services at onshore and offshore BP projects in the Caspian region. This includes the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oilfields, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Supsa oil pipelines, the Shah Deniz gas field and the South Caucasus Pipeline gas pipeline.

SOCAR and Petrofac set up their joint venture in 2017, in order to target services contracts in Azerbaijan. In April they were hired by France’s Total for engineering and technical services at Azerbaijan’s offshore Absheron gas field.
