Oz Senex Starts Project Atlas Drilling

Australian Senex Energy August 1 said it has started drilling at Project Atlas in Queensland as part of its 110-well integrated Surat Basin natural gas drilling campaign.

“Following the first 10 wells in Senex’s campaign at the Roma North development, the Easternwell rig has been moved to Project Atlas where the first well was spudded last night,” it said.

CEO Ian Davies said the start of drilling at Project Atlas was an important step in the delivery of new gas volumes to the domestic market. “Project Atlas is a top-tier asset in a proven and prolific gas-producing area. We have great confidence in this resource, so the spudding of the first well is an exciting milestone that brings us closer to first gas later this calendar year,” Davies said.

In June 2018 Senex partnered with gas infrastructure firm Jemena to build the processing facility at Atlas project.
