Easternwell Gets Senex Drilling Contract

Easternwell June 6 said it has signed a one-year contract with a one-year extension option to provide drilling and completion services for Senex’s Surat Basin natural gas developments.

“As two locally-based Queensland companies, we recognise the importance of supporting local communities and optimising the flow-on economic benefits from our operations to local businesses,” Easternwell general manager Kyle Koziol said. “This drilling program will give us the opportunity to collaborate with Senex to deliver very efficient, safe and cost-effective wells as part of this important project for the local and broader Queensland economy.”

Senex is developing Roma North, about 30km north of Roma, and Project Atlas, a dedicated domestic gas tenure about 20km south-west of Wandoan. These developments involve the construction of a combined 110 wells initially, two gas processing plants and associated pipelines.

Earlier this week, Senex started its integrated natural gas drilling campaign in Surat Basin. Drilling began at Roma North and will continue to the end of Q1 FY20 when the rig will start drilling at Project Atlas.
