Oz LNG Exports to China Unaffected: EnergyQuest

Australian LNG exports to China in January have not been affected due to the outbreak of coronavirus, energy consultancy, EnergyQuest, said in a report published February 11.

“There is also potential for delays in cargoes. Our tracking data suggests that Australian exports to China have been largely unaffected, at least so far, but as the largest supplier to China, any disruption to cargoes is likely to impact Australian projects, particularly those at Gladstone,” EnergyQuest said.

Overall, it was pretty much business as usual for the Australian projects in January. Total Australian LNG exports last month stood at 7mn metric tons, slightly lower than the record 7.1mn mt in December. West coast LNG shipments were steady compared with December while east coast LNG shipments were 1.9mn mt, down by 0.09mn in January compared with December, EnergyQuest said.
