Iran: NITC Says Ready to Re-start Carrying Oil to Europe

TEHRAN, May 11 (Shana) -- Commercial Director of the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) Nasrollah Sardashti said that this company is ready to re-start carrying Iran’s oil to Europe.

"We expect that first Iranian oil tankers start their travel to European ports in June 2016," he added.

The official said that NITC has done enough preparations including repair of ships as well as resolution of ranking and insurance issues to begin travel to Europe.

NITC updated itself during the sanctions era and Iranian tankers carried cargoes to Korea and China despite limitations, he noted.

Sardashti said that before the sanctions, Iran oil export to Europe was up to 700,000 b/pd and parts of it was carried by NITC and this company is ready to do the job again.
