Neptune Integrates VNG Norge

Neptune Energy announced earlier this week that it had completed the integration of former VNG Norge assets.

The UK-based independent said December 10 that integration of VNG Norge assets was completed as of December 4. Acquisition of the VNG assets was completed in late September. Neptune Energy Norge will be one of the top five independents on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and become operator of the formerly VNG-operated Fenja oil and gas development project, which is targeting first oil in 2021.

Neptune Energy Norge will be led by its managing director, Odin Estensen, with effect from January 2 2019 (see photo courtesy of Neptune below) whose appointment was announced in October. He joins from Shell where he was its Norway-operated asset manager and his principal responsibility was for the major Ormen Lange gas field. Until end-September 2017 when it transferred to Gassco, he also led the running of the Langeled gas export terminal.

Anne Botne, Neptune's interim country director for Norway, remains with the company but will fully resume her head of legal responsibilities.
