Shizuoka Gas 2018 Sales Volume Up 6%

Japanese city gas supplier Shizuoka Gas March 13 reported 6% year-on-year rise in gas sales volume for the 12-months to December 31.

Company’s gas sales volume in 2018 was 1.54bn m3 as against 1.45bn m3 in the year before. Sales revenue for the year was yen 143bn ($1.3bn), up 17% on 2017, Shizuoka said.

Founded in 1910 in Shizuoka prefecture, Shizuoka Gas supplies gas to Shizuoka city, Fuji city, Fujinomiya city, Numazu city, Mishima city, Susono city, Shimizucho, Nagaizumicho and Kannamicho.

The company is Japan’s fourth biggest buyer of LNG and operates the Shimizu LNG import terminal. In January, it entered into a sale and purchase agreement with China’s Clean Energy to deliver LNG from its terminal in the form of ISO tank containers.

Shizuoka Gas said it has been seeking further utilisation of its Shimizu LNG terminal since 2017 when it successfully sold gas from its reloading facility.
