Japan’s Shizuoka Gas to Supply LNG to China's Clean Energy

Japanese utility Shizuoka Gas said January 30 it will supply LNG to China’s Clean Energy.

Shizuoka entered into a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Clean Energy, a Dalian Inteh Holdings, to deliver LNG from its terminal in Japan in the form of ISO tank containers.

As per the SPA, the Japanese company will supply 1,600 metric tons/year of LNG for three years starting 2019. The LNG to be supplied from Shizuoka Gas would be delivered to Taishan Gas Group and Rizhao Public Transport Group in China through Clean Energy and Ants Energy as an LNG selling company under Dalian Inteh Holdings.

This is the first binding term contract in Japan to transport LNG through ISO tank containers to China where gas demand is rapidly increasing, Shizuoka said.

Shizuoka Gas said it has been seeking further utilisation of its Shimizu LNG terminal since 2017 when it successfully sold gas from its reloading facility.
