Botala, Pure Hydrogen spud Serowe 5 in Botswana

Botala Energy, formerly BotsGas, has spudded the Serowe 5 coalbed methane well in Serowe project in Botswana, Sydney-listed Pure Hydrogen said on December 6. Pure Hydrogen signed a joint operating agreement with Botala for the Serowe project in December last year.

Serowe 5 well is the second of a two-well programme to be completed before the end of 2021. It will be drilled to a total depth of about 470 m after which logs will be run for the well.

Meanwhile, Pure Hydrogen said that Serowe 4 well, which was spudded last month, has encountered 31 m of interpreted gassy coal seams which is "significantly higher" than pre-drill estimates.

Pure Hydrogen is free carried on the first A$6mn ($4.3mn) expenditure in the Serowe project.
