Botala Energy, Pure Hydrogen spud CBM well in Botswana

Botala Energy, formerly BotsGas, has spudded the Serowe 4 coalbed methane (CBM) well in Serowe project in Botswana, Sydney-listed Pure Hydrogen said on November 12. Pure Hydrogen signed a joint operating agreement with Botala for the Serowe project in December last year.

Serowe 4 well is the first of a two-well programme to be completed before the end of 2021 and is designed to expand on the results Botala delivered with the drilling of the Serowe 3 well.

Results from the two exploration wells will be used to determine the location of a commercial pilot programme planned for the first half of 2022, Pure Hydrogen said. This is in addition to extended flow-testing of the Serowe 3.

Pure Hydrogen is free carried on the first A$6mn ($4.3mn) expenditure in the Serowe project.
