Woodside to Supply RWE With LNG

Australian independent Woodside Energy has signed an LNG sales agreement with Germany's RWE, Woodside confirmed October 31.

“Woodside is very pleased to have entered into a mid-term LNG sales and purchase agreement with RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, a respected German company and a leading European energy trading entity,” Woodside CEO Peter Coleman said.

“This agreement illustrates further diversification of Woodside’s buyer relationships and the increasing interaction between Asia-Pacific and Atlantic LNG participants,” he added.

The agreement is for the delivery of up to 12 cargoes of LNG between April 2018 and March 2020, Woodside said.

Woodside produces LNG in Western Australia via the North West Shelf, Pluto LNG and Wheatstone LNG projects.

RWE S&T is becoming more active in LNG trading, and last month signed an agreement to offtake from Angola LNG.
