Aussie east coast LNG exports up 7% in Jan

LNG exports from the three projects on the Australian east coast came in at 2.04mn metric tons in January, up 6.8% year/year, Gladstone Ports Corp said on February 6. The exports were up 8.5% month/month. 

China was the biggest buyer and imported 1.04mn mt of LNG, down from 1.29mn mt in the same month last year. South Korea shipped in 410,140 mt of LNG as against 294,765 mt in January 2021. Japan imported 186,981 mt of LNG versus 186,883 mt.

The three east coast projects are Australia Pacific LNG, Gladstone LNG and Queensland Curtis LNG. LNG exports from the three projects came in at a record 23.47mn mt in 2021, up 4.96% yr/yr.
