Aussie east coast LNG exports remain flat in Mar

LNG exports from the three projects on the Australian east coast came in at 1.99mn metric tons in March compared with 1.98mn mt in the same period last year, Gladstone Port Corp said on April 6. The exports were up 3.7% month/month, however. 

China was the biggest buyer and imported 1.13mn mt of LNG, down from 1.44mn mt in the same month last year. South Korea shipped in 416,778 mt of LNG as against 231,469 mt in March 2021. Japan imported 183,386 mt of LNG versus 65,720 mt in the previous year.

The three east coast projects are Australia Pacific LNG, Gladstone LNG and Queensland Curtis LNG. LNG exports from the three projects came in at a record 23.47mn mt in 2021, up 4.96% yr/yr.
