Aussie east coast LNG exports down 7% in April

LNG exports from the three projects on the Australian east coast in April came in at 1.89mn metric tons, down over 7% year/year, Gladstone Port Corp. said on May 6. The exports were up 8.6% month/month, however.

Exports to China were 1.1mn mt, up from 1.07mn mt last year. The data showed that the east coast projects exported 278,549 mt of LNG to South Korea, up from 222,687 mt in April 2022.

The east coast projects exported 206,290 mt of LNG to Japan, down from 373,568 mt last year. Singapore shipped in 142,456 mt of LNG, up from 134,954 mt last year, the data showed.

The three east coast projects are Australia Pacific LNG, Gladstone LNG, and Queensland Curtis LNG. LNG exports from these projects came in at 22.64mn mt in 2022, down from a record 23.47mn mt in 2021
