Aussie east coast LNG exports down 4% in August

LNG exports from the three projects on the Australian east coast in August came in at 1.83mn metric tons, down 3.7% year/year, Gladstone Port Corp. said on September 6. The exports were up 11.6% month/month, however.

Exports to China were down to 922,050 mt from1.35mn mt. South Korea imported 285,929 mt of LNG versus 353,315 mt last year. Shipments to Japan were 253,742 mt, sharply up from 66,307 mt in the same month of last year. Malaysia imported 248,015 mt, up from 60,086 mt.

The three east coast projects are Australia Pacific LNG, Gladstone LNG and Queensland Curtis LNG. LNG exports from the three projects came in at a record 23.47mn mt in 2021, up 4.96% yr/yr.
