Wison starts pre-FEED for two FLNG projects in Nigeria

China's Wison New Energies has started the design validation and pre-front end engineering design (Pre-FEED) phase for two floating LNG projects, the company said on January 22.

The agreement involves Wison New Energies providing design validation and engineering studies for two FLNG facilities, each with a capacity of 3mn tonnes/year. These ventures are led by Ace Gas and FLNG and Transoceanic Gas and Power.

The feedstock for the Ace Gas and FLNG project is slated to be derived from multiple fields situated within a minimum of four blocks in the swamp and shallow water regions close to OML 109, as per the company's website. The extracted gas will undergo processing to yield LNG, LPG, and condensates. The LNG produced is expected to be supplied to local power barges and customers in Europe.

In the case of Transoceanic's FLNG project, the location is offshore Pennington, proximal to OML 289—a block operated by the company on behalf of the Cleanwaters consortium. Covering approximately 385.4 km2 and located 33 miles offshore in the western Niger Delta, the project operates in shallow water depths ranging from 80 to 160 meters, according to the company's website.
