Turkey's 1st FSRU Inaugurated by Engie

French utility Engie and Turkish conglomerates Kolin and Kalyon inaugurated the ETKI floating LNG terminal on December 23 in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, prime minister Binali Yildirim and energy minister Berat Albayrak.

The facility is based on a floating regasification and storage unit (FSRU), Neptune, owned by Hoegh LNG. An article about its deployment was published by NGW earlier last week here.

A statement by Engie was published December 23 here. The FSRU itself arrived fully laden with LNG at Cakmakli, near Aliaga close to Turkey's west coast city of Izmir on December 11. It is Turkey's third LNG import terminal but its first floating one.
