Trillion energy collaborates with gas trading firm

Canada-listed Trillion Energy has entered into a non-disclosure agreement with an unnamed global energy trading company to explore potential opportunities in Bulgaria and Turkey, it said on July 20. The joint initiative focuses on the Vranino 1-11 exploration block in Bulgaria, which holds significant coalbed methane exploration potential.

Through this collaboration, Trillion aims to unlock untapped gas resources in the Vranino 1-11 block. The global energy trading company's extensive expertise and experience, along with its 2022 revenue of over $100 billion, position them strategically to capitalise on potential gas trading and distribution opportunities in the region, the company said.

The partnership also aligns well with the interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) implementation, offering opportunities for pipeline infrastructure to transport gas in Bulgaria. Furthermore, with infrastructure expansion in Turkey and Bulgaria, promising prospects for accessing pipeline conduits to facilitate natural gas transportation to countries like Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia are envisioned.

The company owns a 49% interest in the SASB natural gas field, which is one of the Black Sea's largest-scale natural gas development projects. Additionally, it holds a 19.6% interest in the Cendere oil field (except three wells with 9.8%) and the Vranino 1-11 block.
