Tlou starts gas flow at Lesedi 6 production pod in Botswana

Tlou Energy, an Australian company focused on developing energy projects in souther Africa, on November 27 announced the successful commencement of gas flow at the Lesedi 6 production pod in Botswana.

The initiation of gas flow at Lesedi 6 follows the completion of drilling activities at the pod and the redrill of lateral sections at the adjacent Lesedi 4 production pod. The next step is to allow the gas flow rate to develop and obtain an initial sustained flow rate. The company will continue production testing at both Lesedi 4 and Lesedi 6, it said.

The gas produced from Lesedi 6 will be used for electricity generation for the existing 10 MW power purchase agreement with Botswana Power Corporation once the transmission line, substations, and associated electrical infrastructure are in place.

Lesedi 6 is the first well of a proposed drilling programme aimed at expanding gas production at the Lesedi power project.
