TGS Commences 2-D Multi-Client Survey in Northeast Greenland

Norway’s TGS commenced a 2D multi-client survey in Northeast Greenland to provide additional information to its costumers taking part to the Greenland Licensing Round in 2013/2014.

The seismic data is being acquired by the M/V Akademik Shatskiy supported by the ice breaker M/V Balder Viking.

‘Data processing will be performed by TGS and data will be available to clients in Q1 2014,’ reads a note released on Monday, explaining that the survey is funded by the oil and gas industry.

TGS is a service provider specialized in geoscience data. It expects to acquire 4,200 km of 2D multi-client seismic data.

Russia’s Rosneft and the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute completed their expedition in the Kara Sea on August 16, confirming a clear interest of explorer and producer in the Arctic offshore.
