Shell's New CFO Come from Its Gas Unit

Simon Henry is stepping down as Shell chief financial officer and will be succeeded by Jessica Uhl.

She will take over from Henry in March and become a member of its executive committee (management board). A US citizen, she joined Shell in 2004 and is currently executive vice president of finance for Shell’s integrated gas business. Prior to joining Shell, she worked for Enron in Houston and Panama (1997-2003) and Citibank in San Francisco (1990-96).

“Jessica combines an external perspective with broad Shell experience and is a highly-regarded executive,” said Shell CEO Ben van Beurden.

Henry will stay on the board as CFO until March 9 2017 and sign the 2016 annual report, after which he will hand over to Uhl, although he will stay with Shell until June 30 2017. He has worked for the company for over 30 years and was appointed CFO in May 2009 and is also regional executive director for Asia Pacific with specific oversight for China.

Shell chairman Charles Holliday said Henry had strengthened Shell’s capital management and balance sheet, enabling it to execute the BG takeover: “When he leaves our board, it will be with our very best wishes.”
