Seatrium New Energy delivers second jackup rig to ADNOC Drilling

Seatrium New Energy, a member of the Seatrium Group, on August 22 announced the successful delivery of its second jackup rig, named AlSila, to ADNOC Drilling Company, a unit of ADNOC.

The jackup rig is part of a series of five rigs initially built for Borr Drilling by Seatrium New Energy (formerly Keppel FELS). Last year, Seatrium Group entered into an agreement with Borr Drilling to expedite the delivery of three jackup rigs. Subsequently, Borr Drilling novated the construction contracts for these rigs to ADNOC Drilling.

AlSila is the second rig in this series of three jackup rigs. Built to the KFELS B Class design, the rig can operate in water depths exceeding 400 feet and drill to depths of up to 30,000 feet, both vertically and horizontally. The rig is equipped with a fully-automated high capacity rack and pinion elevating system, as well as a self-positioning fixation system that can accommodate up to 150 individuals with complete amenities.

The jackup rigs, constructed at Seatrium's Pioneer Yard in Singapore, are designed to cater to a diverse range of customers, from small independent oil companies to major multinational energy corporations, the company said.
