Russia Gas Production Up in 2016
Gas production in Russia increased by 0.9% to 639 bn m3 in 2016, according to a report by the country's Ministry of Economic Development.
“By the end of 2016 the index grew by 0.9%,” the ministry said, referring to data from Russia's Federal State Statistics Service.
This was the first year of gas production growth since 2013.

Gazprom’s production in 2016, according to the company’s operative data, amounted to 419.07 bn m3 (65.6% of overall Russian production), which was 0.1% higher than the previous year.
According to the Russian statistics, independent gas producers, such as Novatek, increased production in 2016 by 1.9% year on year, to 231.374 bn m3.
