Po Valley completes commissioning of PM-1 gas facility in Italy

Australia-listed Po Valley Energy on August 7 announced the successful completion of the ramp-up and commissioning process for its Podere Maiar – 1 (PM-1) gas facility located in the Selva Malvezzi production concession in the Po Valley plains of northern Italy.

The ramp-up and commissioning process was carried out seamlessly, leading to a scheduled three-day shutdown during which memory gauges from the C2 production zone were removed, the company said. A slick line rig was used on the last day of the shutdown to complete the successful work programme, which involved memory gauge removal and the acquisition of pressure and temperature gradient data. Following this, production at the PM-1 facility resumed.

Po Valley announced the successful commencement of gas production at its 63% owned PM-1 gas facility in early July. Under an 18-month gas supply agreement, PM-1 is supplying the gas produced to BP.

The Selva Malvezzi concession is owned by joint venture partners Po Valley (63%) and Prospex Energy (37%). Po Valley in August 2022 announced it had received firm commitments to raise A$4.5mn ($3.13mn) via a share placement to develop the Podere Maiar gas field.
