Petrovietnam Gas to buy one LNG cargo from Qatar

Petrovietnam Gas (PV Gas), a unit of the state-run Petrovietnam, on March 27 announced it had signed a contract with QatarEnergy LNG to import one LNG cargo in April.

The 70,000 tonne cargo is slated for delivery at the Thi Vai LNG terminal between April 12-13. PV Gas intends to utilise this LNG cargo to fulfill industrial production requirements, it stated.

The Thi Vai LNG import terminal was commissioned by PV Gas last year. With an initial handling capacity of 1mn tonnes/year, the terminal boasts a 180,000 m3 storage LNG tank, a jetty, and a regasification area. In the second phase, the terminal's capacity will be expanded to 3mn tonnes/year.

PV Gas announced earlier in March its plans to commence LNG supply via trucks to downstream customers in the near future.
