Turkmenistan Finds New Gas Deposit
Turkmenistan's government December 1 said that a new gas deposit has been found in Chelekbay area in the north-western part of the Galkynysh gas field. According to officials from state owned Turkmengaz, upper layers of the well can produce 1mn m3/d of natural gas.
Galkynysh gas field was discovered in 2006 and is the second largest in the world. Galkynysh consist of Iolotan, Minara, Osman and Yashlar fields. Other nearby gas areas are Gunorta Garakel, Garakel, Giurgiu, Gazanly, Gundogar Eloten and Gunbatar Yandakly.
