Inpex Completes 103-km Toyama Line

Japanese Inpex October 21 formally announced the completion of the construction of the 103-km Toyama Line which supplies natural gas including regasified LNG from Naoetsu LNG terminal in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture to customers based along the pipeline’s route.

The company started constructing the Toyama Line in April 2012 and completed the project in June this year. Inpex commenced partial operations of the Toyama Line to supply natural gas to Nissan Chemical Industries in July. The pipeline will be fully operational when gas supplies to Nihonkai Gas start October 27. Inpex and Nihonkai Gas signed a sales and purchase agreement in January this year.

With this Inpex’s natural gas trunk pipeline network in Japan will expand to some 1,500 km.
