Indian LNG imports surge 26% in January

Indian LNG imports in January were 2.41bn m3 (1.8mn tonnes), up 26% year/year, according to the provisional data published by the country's oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) on February 16.

For the 10 months of the current fiscal year, which commenced on April 1, 2023 (FY2024), imports were 25.3bn m3, up 15% year/year.

In the fiscal year that concluded on March 31, 2023 (FY2023), India's LNG imports amounted to 26.65bn m3, reflecting a decline of 14.1% in comparison to the preceding year.
