Gujarat to Invest in Swan Energy LNG Project

The western Indian state government of Gujarat has decided to invest in privately owned Swan Energy’s floating LNG import terminal project in the state.

In a notice sent to Bombay Stock Exchange December 16, Swan Energy said the state government would pick up 26% in equity of its LNG port project in Jafarabad in the state. The state government would invest through Gujarat State Petronet and Gujarat Maritime Board jointly.

The company December 13 said its 100% subsidiary company Swan LNG, has received approval from Gujarat Maritime Board to start work on a 5mn metric ton/yr LNG terminal with ancillary structures for its FSRU project at Jafrabad.  

Swan Energy also inked a MoU with Iraq's Petronasr (20%) and Alpha Energy, for the development of Iran's 20 trillion ft³ Sephied Baghun gas field.
