Gladstone Port Exports 1.64mn mt LNG in November

Exports of LNG from Queensland’s Gladstone Port stood at 1.64mn metric tons (mt) in November, according to the latest data published by Gladstone Port Corporation.

Exports were 1.42mn mt in October. China, South Korea, Japan and Singapore were the top destinations. Exports to China during the month were 906,251 mt compared with 660,600 mt in October. Total shipment to Japan was 189,908 mt compared with 201,008 mt in October. Exports to South Korea were 482,381 mt compared with 300,121 mt in October.

Exports have risen as more coalbed methane-LNG trains have come on stream on Curtis Island. Gladstone Port exported 12.2mn mt of LNG during the fiscal year 2015-2016 that ended on June 30, 2016 compared with 1.61mn mt during the last fiscal year. It expects the trend to continue in the current fiscal year.
