Gladstone Port January LNG Exports 1.69mn mt

Exports of LNG from Queensland’s Gladstone Port stood at 1.69mn metric tons (mt) in January, according to the latest data published by Gladstone Port Corporation. Exports were 1.75mn mt in December.

China, South Korea and Japan remained the top destinations. Exports to China during the month were 656,744 mt compared with 946,288 mt last month. Total shipment to Japan was 334,637 mt compared with 195,417 mt in December. Exports to South Korea were 565,881 mt vis-à-vis 414,667 mt last month.

Exports have risen as more coalbed methane-LNG trains have come on stream on Curtis Island. Gladstone Port expects the trend of rising exports to continue in the current year as well.
