Gazprom Seeks Expansion in Kyrgyzstan

Russia’s Gazprom continues its campaign to strengthen business ties with neighbours, meeting Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev, while Poland’s PGNiG records a decrease in gas supplies from the Russian giant.

‘The parties addressed major cooperation initiatives in the oil and gas sector and noted that the comprehensive integration of the Kyrgyz energy sector into Gazprom Group would help solving several issues of national importance,’ the company said in a communiqué.

Gazprom eyes opportunities in large-scale investments, expressing its interest to reconstruct and upgrade the country's transmission and distribution network. The company led by Alexey Miller committed to continued gas supplies.

Earlier this year, Gazprom’s management signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement for a 100% stake in KyrgyzgazProm

PGNiG REGISTERS DECREASE IN GAS SUPPLIES

On the opposite front, Poland’s PGNiG said its registered a 20% decrease in gas supplies from Gazprom on Monday and a 24% reduction on Tuesday. The company said that the situation is not alarming, as missing volumes were offset by supplies coming from other entry points. The company said it will work to clarify the reason of the lower volumes, adding that it will investigate whether the reduction has to do with commercial or technical problems.
