China's gas imports up 24% in January-February

Chinese natural gas imports via pipeline and in the form of LNG during January and February were 22.1mn tonnes, up 23.6% year/year, according to customs department data published on March 7.

The country’s natural gas imports have been strong in recent months owing to softer LNG prices. Last year, China imported 119.9mn tonnes of natural gas, up 9.9% year/year, the department announced in January.
