Australia's Beach Energy appoints Brett Woods as new CEO

Australian energy producer Beach Energy on August 9 announced the appointment of Brett Woods as the managing director and CEO. He is set to assume his new role on February 21, 2024, or as otherwise agreed upon.

Woods brings to the table a career spanning over 25 years in the upstream oil and gas sector. Notably, his most recent decade-long tenure at Santos saw him undertake a series of executive positions, including COO, vice president developments, and vice president of the Eastern Australia business unit.

During the interim period until Woods takes over, Bruce Clement, a current non-executive director, has been appointed as interim CEO.

Last month, Beach reported a 10.7% year/year decrease in sales revenue for the April-June quarter (Q4FY23) owing to lower product prices.
